I have always had an interest in landscape painting, and as I am lucky to be able to live on the western fringe of Dartmoor, this has provided the majority of my inspiration.
The last two years have been odd in many ways, but has given me the opportunity to focus on what is near at hand. To that end I have just completed a series of twenty landscapes all situated within in a mile of my studio above Tavistock.
This landscape changes every day of course and certainly every season – some of my ‘subjects’ have been painted several times.
In addition, and as an architect, I am fascinated by the relationship of building to landscape and have produced a number of paintings centred on our ‘stately homes’ - such as Hidcote, Avebury Manor, Saltram House and Cotehele etc.
I work principally in acrylic and oils and have my work professionally copied by the Giclée process.
