I am at my happiest when I am painting or creating, and now several years into my retirement I have so much more opportunity to develop my work. I paint mainly in acrylic and oils. I have also started learning printmaking techniques, which I am exploring using with other media, and want to learn to think more outside the box. Growing up on remote Pacific islands I was fortunate to experience some of the wonders of nature on land and sea from a young age, and I think that is why I am particularly drawn to landscapes, but even more so the sea. I'm also a cat lover, and have started creating images of various family members cats, which is fun. Through exhibiting with Drawn to the Valley and a few smaller events and outlets, I have had the opportunity to sell my work. Knowing that someone likes your work enough to buy it is the greatest feeling.
