The paintings all have meaning behind the work, giving it more of a statement not just an image. My original intention was to make them ambiguous leaving the viewer to interact with the image. However, if you're not careful you can leave the viewer confused and what they don't understand, they usually don't like!
Back in 2015 I entered The Other Art Fair in Bristol. (This is a big event, nearly 100 artists all with stands showing their work). I decided to put labels giving a short description of each work. It must have worked, I sold seven originals that year!
Whilst it is very gratifying to sell your art. I've found (in recent years) that starting with an idea, researching and creating that idea until you produce a piece that you're happy with is most satisfying. If you then sell it, that is the best compliment to your efforts.
