I started my business in the early part of last year after finding myself falling out of love with my previous job. This was the best decision I have ever made; I am now doing what I love and building it into a business.

I started out creating landscapes with oil paint but wasn’t getting excited about them. I wanted colour, I wanted to make something different and new, and this is where pour painting started. I use a range of pour painting techniques which include straight pours, dirty cups and my favourite, Dutch pouring. I love using acrylic paints, they are so bold and vibrant. I mix the paint with a gloss medium, PVA glue, water and sometimes silicone oil to get those beautiful cells.

My biggest achievements so far have all come in the past few weeks, I am in the process of setting up my own exhibition in Tavistock library which will be available to view from the 8th -31st of March and my mini artworks will have a home in a new shop coming to Tavistock. So, this year has already brought some amazing opportunities.

'Emerald', Acrylic paint and pouring medium

Here is a little bit about me, my favourite place to be is 100% Florida (specifically Disney World) I have never been somewhere where I felt more like I was on a different planet, all your cares disappear, and you forget about the outside world. It’s such a beautiful feeling. My favourite book is Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn trilogy. Again, it gives a feeling of escapism. You are transported to a fantasy world that has so many twists and turns, it constantly keeps you on your toes. I would urge anyone to read them. .

'In the Rose Garden' it’s acrylic paint, pouringmedium, PVA glue and water.

My favourite film changes very often so here is a few that I absolutely love:
1. Kill bill – Just an artistic masterpiece.
2. CODA – Get the tissues ready, beautiful film.
3. What we do in the shadows – Funniest film I have watched in a long time.
If I could only pick one person to meet, I would probably say Tom Hiddleston, just look at him… need I say more! My motivation to get my business to be a success is my family, they have supported me through the highs and lows of this business and my drive to make it a success is because of them. I want to be able to repay them for everything they have done for me and there is no bigger motivation then that.

Hopefully you feel like you know me and my story a bit better now. I want to thank everyone in the DTTV group for giving me some amazing opportunities and giving me the tools to get my business seen.
