Helen can’t remember a time when she wasn’t creating something, she was just born that way. She works in more than one style, including landscapes; some of them otherworldly or sublime, many inspired by the sea and views near her home on the Rame Peninsula; as well as impressionistic and surrealist works.
To create her pictures Helen is not afraid to use anything that comes to hand: chopsticks, sponges, fingers, as well as fine tipped brushes and feathers. She will frequently use light-reactive paints, makeup, foils and materials to make the work leap into life, or change mood with the hues of the day. Sometimes she will used a palimpsest technique, washing areas of the pictures away to uncover a hidden mystery or the unexpected.
She is also known in the region as a poet and has worked in the music industry and as a regional television producer/director. She has worked in crime for some years now.
